Retrospective training

Learn to run retros that build trust in the team and lead it to the results it wants.

Get in touch

A retrospective is a mirror of a team’s collaboration. It is not just a look back at the past work period, but a chance to learn, grow and get better together. A well-run retro brings flow and clarity to work processes and builds trust and a sense of unity.

We train retro facilitators and run retro workshops. We build on the Sunergos Retrospective Toolbox, which is used, for example, by the service managers of the Estonian Health Insurance Fund in their teams.

Regardless of what we discover in the retro, we assume that everyone did the best job they could!

  1. 01

    A successful retro needs

    • safety to talk honestly about real issues
    • every team member’s contribution, the diversity that comes from different observations
  2. 02

    Principles of running a retro

    • focus on how we work, not on what was done
    • everyone can say what they think without being interrupted
    • a growth mindset, not blame
    • everyone takes part and has a say in choosing the topics and solutions
  3. 03

    In the training we cover

    • the goal of the retro and choosing a suitable exercise
    • rules that create a safe and open atmosphere
    • warm-up exercises and the schedule
    • agreements and next steps after the retro
    • running a retro in a virtual space
  4. 04

    When to hold a retro?

    • during intensive teamwork and tight deadlines, at least once a week
    • at a normal working pace, once or twice a month
    • at the first opportunity when someone feels the teamwork is getting worse
